20 Weeks

So, other than the goofy smile....not a whole lot going on other than just plain fatness. I really have poked out a little bit, but it's not really that noticable. Oh well. It will happen soon. It's so hard being in the fat stage before you look pregnant. It's worth it though :)

Eating and loving it

I made stroganof tonight with elbow macaroni and Cara loved it! She gobbled it right down. I made sure that the hamburger was ground smaller than what they get it at Taco Bell. She is sporting her new pumpkin bib she got from Grammy Teri. It came just in time for Halloween.

Why My Husband Rocks...

Cara

My little smiley bug.

Meet Alex :)

Saying hi to the camera. You can see his little ear next to his hand.
The ultrasound tech said his little nose turns up at the end. He reminds me of a who from whoville. So cute.

His little thumb and pinky are out, like hes saying "dude, rock on". He's such a boy.

We are totally having a boy!!!! His official name is David Alexander Henry. We will be calling him Alex. He is measuring right on schedule. The tech said everything looked perfect. There weren't any imperfections anywhere. We are soooooooo excited!!!

Goodbye Grandpa Bryson

Blake's Great-Grandpa Bryson died a few days ago. The funeral is today and we are so sad to be missing it. I am so glad that he was able to meet Cara this summer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Great-Grandma Margie and the rest of our family. We love you all.

A gift from her uncles

I got this cute monkey shirt for Cara at our California babyshower from her uncles: Colton, Owen and Nate. She finally fits into it and I think she looks so cute. I did have to put a ponytail in her hair so she wouldn't be mistaken for a boy, though. I was glad I pulled the shirt out now. It just barely fits. I think in another month, it will be too small :)

Trunk or Treat

Cara showing Rayna her candy
Wondering who these strange people are?????
Loving Chief Henderson :)
Pretty much the look of the day.
Checking out her carseat before we left.
The picture is a little bright...otherwise it would have been really cute!
Mommy and her monkey

Showing her costume to Daddy
We had our first harvest festival celebration this year. Cara went as a monkey. I have to thank my friend Cassie for the outfit. I don't think we would have had one otherwise. I'm not sure how much fun Cara actually had, but it was a nice "get out of the house" activity. We went with my friend Brittney and her son Aj (who went as IronMan). I think Cara's favorite part was the butterfinger...oh yes, I had given her one just to hold, and before long....I looked down and half of it was eaten. She loves the chocolate! We are now home and getting ready for bed. I am hoping she is as exausted as I am!

Being Silly

This is another one of the outfits Kimberly bought for Cara....minus the jeans. The jeans that came with the outfit were just too big for the moment. I think she looks so adorable (am I just super biased, or what???).

Blinking and Getting Stuck

Cara has learned how to blink. It is the funniest thing ever! I couldn't figure out what her deal was yesterday. I was feeding her some refried beans and she kept squinting at me. I thought she thought I was going to thump her in the head or something. Nope. She was just sitting here this morning looking at me, blinking. It's so cute. Unfortunatly I don't have a picture of it. I think it would just look like she's closing her eyes, anyway. So, this is a photoless update.
Cara now pulls up on everything. She thinks it's just the most fun thing to do ever! Well, let me tell you how NOT fun it is when she gets stuck standing!! She can get down sometimes, but for the most part, right now, she can't get back down to the ground. Her biggest challenge lately has been trying to follow the cat up onto the window sill. Obviously this will never happen. It's just too high. She stands up and stares at him, then really can't get down. She has defenitly kept me busy and on my feet this last week!!
My last photoless update for the day..her newest favorite snack. Manderin oranges. She loves them! She will almost gobble them down whole. We are learning how to take our time and chew. I'm sure she will get it at some point!

Gratch and Cara

Gratch is finally used to Cara. I don't know what changed in the last couple of days, but he went from avoiding her to staying quite close to her. He even plays with her. He still gets annoyed and leaves if she gets too rough, but I am just surprised at the change!!!

New Clothes

Kimberly bought Cara some new things this past week. This is my favorite outfit that she gave her. I think Cara looks so nice in purple :)

Morning Fun

She totally stood inside of her bumbo to reach the folder on the table....
So many no-no's all in one place.
I think she was going to eat the camera or something :)

Hanging out with Mama

She really loves hanging out with me. It's so fabulous! I have to say, I love having someone love me this much!! I was telling my friend Kimberly the other day that I can't wait until she can play card games!

My Family

Gratch is getting used to Cara....as long as she is sitting with Daddy.

Yay!

Lovin' the toy! Her "grrr-happy" face again.
Concentrating...
We have been looking for some type of stand up toy for Cara. Short of spending $40-$50 on one, I havn't really found anything. I decided to check out the thrift store, and there, in the corner, was this! It was only $8 and was barely even used looking. I came home and cleaned it up and she loves it! I am so pleased!!

Just Playing Around

Her new ferocious smile...not too sure why she does it, but she's happy and grrr all at the same time. It's wierd.

8 Months Old

Well, my little girl is now 8 months old. It's amazing how fast time is flying! She is now eating her meals all by herself. She doesn't quite have the hang of the spoon....I think it will be quite some time before that one clicks. I have had to stop calling her my baby. She thinks it's her name! She will answer to Baby waaaaaaay more often than Cara. She is becoming a lot more vocal lately. She said Mama the day before yesterday. Blake doesn't quite believe me that she meant it. I think she did. I had just set her down on the ground after she woke up from a nap, and she turned and looked at me and said (in a very pitiful voice) "Mama". I am totally putting it in her baby book. I am sure she will say it again.
In recent unborn baby news...I have been feeling the baby move pretty regularly for about a week now. It's pretty awesome to feel the new little one moving around. After spending the weekend with my friend and her kids, I can see now that I will, in fact, be able to handle two kids. I am just waiting for the end of the month. I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl!! Wwe are struggling for a girls name, and this has been a completly different pregnancy, so I'm thinking it will probably be a boy. That will sure be different! I will be happy with either, whatever it ends up being.

Our Weekend

Cara and I took a trip to see my friend, Cassie, this weekend. They are stationed in western Germany about 3 1/2 hours away. It was such a fun couple of days. We havn't seen Cassie and Nick since she was just newly pregnant with thier oldest (who is 3 1/2 now!!). Nick was tdy, so it was just the girls there. We caught up on the last few years, drooled over each other's children, and just had a nice time. Cara was so awesome there. She ate the same meals as the bid kids. She loved it! She had pancakes and cereal for breakfast, spagetti and meatloaf for dinner and a couple of different things for lunch. I couldn't believe how she ate! She had no problems with anything. She was defenitly ready to be home after our almost 4 hour car ride back, though. She's not a fan of the carseat after about an hour. I guess if all I had was a gray seat to stare at, I wouldn't be a fan either.
Cassie took some pictures of Cara while we were there. Cara was NOT in a very cooperative mood. I am hoping, though, when Nick and Cassie come over at the end of the month, we will get some nice family pictures taken. Yay!!
