Cakes and Socks

My friend Kimberly and I made these two cakes for the Girl Scouts volunteer parent banquet. Kim baked the cakes and told me what she wanted. We came up with a fabulous idea for a caterpillar and I already had a butterfly pan. Needless to say, the cakes were a hit. I just love doing this kind of thing.
I got home around 8 last night and was beat! I have been weaning myself off my daily naps, which is proving to be a little more difficult than I had thought it would be. Blake is so awesome. I gave the baby a bath and put her on my bed to hang out with him while I got ready for bed myself. I walked back into the bedroom and found this! He totally made me laugh! These are the socks that Teri got me for Christmas. I am still smiling at Cara wearing them!

My Wonderful Landlord

So, my landlord, Herr Colb, got us a baby gift. He totally didn't know that I LOVE overalls. The bottle is going to work perfect for when Cara starts to drink something other than formula. He is such a wonderful man. I am working on a nice german thank you card for him now.

Having Fun

We had the best day ever today. Cara was in the absolute BEST mood I've ever seen her in! She was happy, awake and cooing all day long. She took two brief naps, but other than that, she's been awake and cheerful. I love it! She had a blast in the jumpy thing. She would stretch her feet out and make herself bounce, then just smile. She is sooooo close to laughing. I am hoping it just comes out here pretty soon. Well, she's needing to be fed, so that is all for this post :)!

Arrg

So, today Cara is a pirate. This is a onsie that Auntie Vanessa bought for her. We are fastly running out of onsies that fit! It's just plain crazy. I finally hit the novelty onsies to see what fit and the pirate one fit perfectly! I put the hot pink pants on her to make sure everyone new she was a girl :). We have been working on tummy time. Today, I put her in the boppy for tummy time. She actually liked it, I was shocked. We are getting ready to read a book before our evening nap. I'm not sure she understands the book concept, but she likes to be chatted with, and this will visually stimulate her at the same time. I am trying to read to her once a day, at the least, now. I want her to grow up super smart!! Well, that's all for today!

My smart little girl

(above) So, this picture is of Cara wayching Star Wars: A New Hope. As you can see, she is hooked at two months! She knows a classic when she sees one. Such a smart little girl. (below) This is shortly after discovering Star Wars....knocked out. Cara got to have naptime on Mommy's bed yesterday. A new and exciting adventure. Gratch has gotten over his fear of her....when she's silent and not moving. It's quite amusing. The minute she wakes up or even starts snuffling around, he's out of there!

Another cute outfit

Here is another cute outfit that Grandma Diane got Cara. I especially love the hat!

My Birthday

I had such a wonderful day. We dropped Cara off at my friend Kimberly's house and Blake took me out. We ate such a lovely dinner at Taco Bell on base. I got a taco salad, which I havn't had since we left the states. We then walked around the Bx, just looking at different things. We saw a car we are planning on getting by the end of the summer. It's the new Ford Focus. It looks pretty awesome. We then went and played 3 games of bowling! Now, for any of you that know me, you know I just LOVE to bowl. I didn't get to do it too often while pregnant and havn't bowled since Cara was born. What a wonderful time! I even won one of the games. It was great. We got Baskin Robins for desert afterwards and I got to have my candle in a hot fudge sunday. It was perfect. My friend Kimberly got me the most beautiful german chrystal candlesticks ever. I didn't get my mom or sister's packages in the mail, but that's totally ok. That just means more birthday goodness later! It was a fabulous day and I had so much fun. I can't wait until next year!

Also, I don't know if you all know, but I share my birthday with one of the most wonderful people in the world, my sister. I can't imagine not sharing a birthday with her. She is fabulous and I love her!

Happy Birthday Jess!

The beginning of my birthday

So, I had a wonderful birthday morning. Blake got home from work and I got to open my present. It was fabulous! I got Romancing The Stone, which I love and an adorable new mommy Precious Moments figurine. It's just wonderful! Blake is taking a nap and then we are off to who knows where for my birthday. He has something planned, but I have no idea what it is. I will blog about it later!

Anticipation...

So my birthday starts in 6 minutes. I just love my birthday and this year there is a present waiting for me to open. It's just sitting there taunting me. Blake has it booby-trapped so he'll know if I touch it. As you can read from the note, I am to look only with my eyes. This is so difficult. I will update you more tomorrow.....

Just another day in the life...

My beautiful daughter!

I sometimes wonder if it's hard being that cute all the time!

Update

My little girl is two months old!! I can't believe how fast time really does fly. I had my PP appointment yesterday and I am happy to report that everything is great. I have healed wonderfully since the delivery and my stomach muscles are back to where they should be (reguardless of how they look!). I was so lucky to have the midwife, Capt. Wilhite, who delivered Cara do my checkup. She is such a wonderful woman. I attribute the wonderful birth to her! She worked very hard and dillegently and I had no tears and needed no appesiotomy. Woo hoo to her!
Cara is doing wonderful. She has been a little clingy the last week or so, but really..is there anything wrong with your baby wanting to cuddle with you? :) She had somewhat of a decreased appetite since her shots, but I'm happy to say it seems to be back in full force as of yesterday. She is eating a full 6 oz every four hours. Sometimes she eats less, but pretty much she's back to normal. I was trying to upload a video of her "talking", but my internet connection is too horrid. It's just the cutest thing. She "talks" all the time now. Cooing and gurgling. It's so adorable. She hasn't quite laughed yet, but I soooo think she's close. She gets so smiley and happy, it's looks like she's about to...and then she grunts. Another thing she is super close on is rolling over. She rocks back and forth pretty well right now. She just needs to figure out that her little arm needs to kind of go under her to actually roll. I just love her!
Tonight is Dancing With The Stars. This is a program that I probably would have never watched if it wasn't for my friend Kimberly. Well, I am so super glad she introduced it to me. I love it! My favorite this season is Kristi Yamaguchi. Jason Taylor is my boy pick. It amazes me that such a tall man can be so very graceful. Woo hoo for my one night of television a week!

I just love her!

A Flower, A Baby and A Workout

Kimberly's beautiful amaryllis

All smiles!

Just hanging out with Daddy.

Here is my latest rave. The Biggest Loser is one of the programs I get to watch when i am at my friend Kim's house. I like it a lot, so I decided to buy the workout dvd to help me lose the baby weight. I LOVE it! It's a great cardio workout that progresses over a 6 week period from easy to difficult. I am so happy to be doing something to take the baby flub off!

A full full day!

Kimberly, Cara and I had a absolutly full day! At ten this morning, we went to a spouses get together to a basic class on basket weaving. This was sooo much fun! We made small little baskets, just for beginners, but next time we are going to make big ones! This was such a fun morning. We didn't get done until after 2! Then it was off to the post office where we got a package from Tim and Karrie (we loved everything!!). Finally, we had bingo tonight. It was Polish pottery night. I acutally won! I won myself a cheese lady. I don't really know what to do with her, but now I have something Polish! We went to the BX afterwards and I got the coolest thing for Cara. It's an image projector that plays music! This is going to be wonderful for her. Blake tried it out tonight and she loves it! Cara and I got back to the house at about 10pm, tired and exausted. It was a fullday, but it was fun!
