My BIG Boy :)

Alex's 4 month stats.....

Weight: 18lbs 4ozs (95th%)
Height: 27 1/4 inches (95%)
Head Circumference: 17.7 inches (95-99%)

What a big boy!!! I do have to admit, Cara was better with the shots. He started screaming when they gave him the oral vaccination and didn't stop until we were in the car!!!! The oral vaccine doesn't even hurt! He is doing really well (other than that). The doc said he's healthy and perfect (I totally agree!!!).

Ahhh...Old car smell

I know, I know. People normally love the smell of new cars.

My friend needed a car becuase theirs broke. We have a car that's just sitting there, not being used since Blake is gone. I decided to offer it to her to use until she gets a new car. I decided today to let her borrow my car which is bigger and will fit her family of five a lot better. After having to buy a new battery for Blake's car, we finally got situated. I put the kids in the car, started it up and headed for home.
Oh, I loved the smell of Blake's car. It felt like home. It smelled like him. His stuff was still in it, his cd's in the player, his work stuff on the seat...it was just so great. It was like he was home. I know he's only been gone a couple of months, but today, it seemed like so much longer. It was a nice reminder of him.
I can't wait until November.

Cara's first Mommy-free outing

My friend was having a bbq tonight. We were going to go, but Alex was running a slight fever and had developed a rash on his tummy. I called and said we, sadly, had to decline. My friend Anna came over before the bbq to just chat and hang out. She totally asked if she could bring Cara and give me a couple hours of quiet! Yay!! She has three children, the youngest is only four months older than Cara, so this worked out fabulously!! I wasn't even nervous. This would be Cara's first time out and about without me or Blake. Anna has babysat the kids before and she has seen how I do things and I have seen how she does things. I wasn't worried at all. Cara seemed to have had a wonderful time :). I got some much needed cleaning done and finally got all of her clothes put away. They stay in my laundry basket a lot of the time because I do the laundry after the kids go to bed, then during the day, I either forget that it needs to be put away, or Cara "helps" me and it ends up all over the floor.
Anna did take some pictures, but I don't have them yet. I will defenitly post them when I get them. It was so nice of her to offer to take Cara. It was a much needed break for me. Being the single parent is difficult sometimes. It's not that the kids are horrible...or even that they are needy or anything. It's just constant. There's nobody to take them for five minutes while you pee..or if you just need five minutes alone. You can never just relax completly becuase you are the parent in charge if they wake up at night and need something. I am totally not complaining, I was just thankful for the few hours of quiet :) Thank you Anna!!

Fun with water

My friend Anna babysat Cara and Alex today while I went and picked up Kimberly and Jason from the airport. Cara had a blast! She and Lukas played in the water all day long. They are so cute :) She really loved taking sips out of the hose....and giving Lukas sips too. It was a fun day!!

A good day

A cute hand me down from Jess...it's had many wears, now it's Cara's turn :)

Cara feeding Alex. She LOVES to help :)

We have had a very succesful two days with potty training. I think that she is finally starting to get a clue as to what that little plastic chair is for. Now all I need to do is teach her how to pull her panties down...she kind of just sits on the potty chair and pees...through the undies. It will come with time :)

Just for Val

Valerie wanted to see what Alex's eyes look like up close. They havn't completly changed yet, but they are well on their way. It will be interesting to see if he keeps the blue ring around the outside. Blake's have the blue ring, so it could be possible, right??
