My little girl does not always love to cuddle. I take advantage when I can....I sometimes have to bribe her by giving her tickle smooches on her neck to get her to stay. I love it!

Cara

24.5 lbs--50%

32 inches tall--95%

Alex

10.5 lbs--50-90%

22 inches long--95%

They both seem to be doing fabulous. Alex is on his way to riviling Cara for size! They are both tall and thin. I know it seems like Cara is a brute, but surprisingly, she isn't in the higher percentiles on the weight chart, just the height chart.

On a completly different note, can I just say how tired I am of diapers????? It will be so nice to have Cara potty-trained. We are going to work on it while Blake is gone, and hopefully by the time he gets back, she'll be trained (or well on her way).

Cuddling with Alex..who is one month old

As good of a day we had yesterday, we had that bad of a day today! At least one of Cara's teeth is actually popping through....finally! She has a wicked diaper rash that just stings when I have to change her. Poor kid. So today, she just wanted to sit on Alex. Not next to him, not in front of him...just on top of him. This was Mother's solution. It worked.......until Alex pooped. She immediatly dropped him after that. It was funny. I hope she is feeling better tomorrow!

Oh, and Alex is one month old already!! I can't believe how fast time flies.

My Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday. Blake took me bowling, which is becoming tradition. I love it! We left the kids with Mother and just had a nice evening. It was the best birthday yet!

A helpful sister

I think that Alex sometimes just doesn't know what to think of his "helpful" big sister. She sure does try, though :) It's rather adorable. She is very sympathetic when he cries. She tries to give him his pacifer...when that doesn't work she tries to give him her own...the really doesn't work. She will hug every part of him, pat his head and give him kisses. She just really loves to help!

Well, I think it's official. At the ripe old age of three weeks old, Alex is apparently following in his big sister's footsteps. Both kids totally watched almost the entire movie this morning. Weird. I just don't know what is so appealing about Bee Movie. I am at a loss...

My Family

Loving Alex

Have I mentioned lately how wierd Cara is? My mother found her in front of her door, sleeping the other day. She always gets out of bed and waits for someone to come and rescue her from her room...she now brings her blanket in case it takes too much time!! She is just so funny.
Another thing that makes her somewhat strange...she loves to bite peoples toes...more specifically, my mom's toes. She actually threw a tantrum tonight becuase I told her NOT to bite the toes. She just thinks it's the funniest thing ever.
Oh, one more thing that makes her wierd. She LOVES salt and vinegar pringles. GROSS!

2 Weeks Old

Alex is now two weeks old! It's crazy. We had his appointment this afternoon and I am happy to say he is doing fabulous! He is now 9lb 2 oz and 22 1/4 inches long. He is in the 75-80% for weight and 95% for height. The doc said he is pink, chunky and healthy!

Cara and Alex

Mother and I were talking today about how having children one year apart is actually turning out to be a great thing. There have been no jealousy issues whatsoever! Cara hugs Alex every morning, gives him kisses throughout the day, and when he fusses in his swing, she goes over and pushes him and pats him to make him feel better. It's just amazing. I thought she was going to not like the fact that he gets to be held all the time, but she just doesn't care. If I'm feeding him, she comes up and sits right next to me, gives him a kiss on the top of the head and we just hang out like that. I love it!

Alex actually slept for 5 hours last night! Yay!! Blake is working night shift right now and was off last night, so I left Alex in the livingroom with him and I went to sleep. It was fabulous. Tonight may be a different story, however. We have been suffering from colds the last two days and today, I think Alex picked it up!! He is snorkly and stuffy and has been sleeping pretty much non-stop all day long. I am hoping that this is as bad as it gets. I am already feeling better and I think Cara is too. Mother has not caught the cold yet, but she has been sneezing a lot today:( Blake won't get the cold becuase he never gets sick!! That in itself is quite sickening.....

In other Alex news...he is now umbilical cord free! It fell off this morning. I am excitied to give him a real bath now!

In other Cara news...She is STILL cutting her canine teeth! How long does it take for them to come in??? She is so drooly, it's just gross!
