Laundry, Cara and my Dad

Finally, our laundry room has power again!! About two weeks ago, we lost power to that room. I had already needed to do laundry at that point. Luckily, we have enough undergarments to last (what my husband calls) two lifetimes, so we were okay. I did about 6 loads of laundry yesterday, and now we all smell nice again!

She sometimes gets lazy while she plays and just lays down.

She loves to "read" the Cheerio book.

And last, but not least....Happy Birthday to my Dad! He is so wonderful. They are up at my sister's on vacation. I am sure they are all having just a wonderful time, I wish I were there! We love you, Dad!

Eating

Cara had her first "real" meal tonight. I made Homestye Bake: Chicken and Biscuits. She LOVED it! It had potatoes, carrots, peas and celery (and of course chicken). I mashed it all up and fed it to her. I gave her chunked up biscuits, which she gobbled right down. She is growing up so fast!

Just the daily pic

She just gets bigger and bigger everyday! She can now sit up all by herself and she can almost pull up into a standing position! It's just amazing!

A new toy

She found a new toy. The racketball. She licks it, chases it, tries her hardest to find it when it rolls under the shelves...it's her new best friend. I have to admit, it's a pretty nice companion for her. It will keep her busy for some time, which then helps me out!

Poor Gratch

There are almost no places left for him to escape..

Having fun

We got this toy from a friend before Cara was born, and she is now starting to love it! It also gives her something little to try to pull up on. She always sits like this on her knees now. She's just getting so big :)

Thoughts from Gratch

"Maybe if I don't look at her, she'll go away."
Hopeful thoughts from a cat about a baby.

This is my mad face, Mommy!!

We are currently working on being happy (or rather, not throwing a fit) when something gets taken away....it's not going smoothly.

The hair

Just after bathtime...and, I might add, these adorable thermals I bought last month.....just about too small. I am sad.

Crawling

She is loving being mobile. Her favorite thing is still to go after the cat. It is NOT his favorite! She is getting over her cold, as am I. We both still have a sniffle and a little bit of a cough, but it's not too bad. So, the fabulousness of the week?? Our bx has started putting out all of it's christmas stuff! It's so wonderful! I can't wait for Christmas. Blake, of course, is disgusted that they have stuff out before October, but I think it's great! It makes it seem not so far away. I can't wait to decorate the house!!!!!

Working hard

Learning to crawl on the linoleum is hard work! She works so very hard and is breathing hard by the time she gets to the other side of the room! She is determined to get the cat, though. He sits on the other rug (that I am sitting on while taking the picture) just taunting her. She can now get him. He does NOT like it!

The angelic face that I see every morning!

Stuck

I was going to post a video of Cara crawling, but our internet just isn't that good. I will have to do it on Friday at my friend's house. Instead, here is a picture of Cara where she crawled. She eventually got out, but it was difficult! She's such a goober.

Feeling better

I think the little bug is feeling better. She didn't wake up at all last night! Yay!! She is still boogery and snotty today and she still has a deep cough, but I don't have to wipe her nose nearly as often, and she is able to drink her bottles. Woo-hoo!

The downside....I have her cold now. The stuffy head, blocked ears, sore throat, runny nose..I find it amazing she was in any type of good mood at all the last few days feeling like this! I am so happy and thankful she is feeling better.

7 Months Old

My little bug is 7 months old today. Wow...time really does fly. To celebrate, Cara has her first cold. Remeber how in an earlier post a couple of days ago, I said she was snotting shen she cried? I think it was the beginning of a cold. She is coughy and sneezy and snotty now. I need to go buy some puffs plus for her little nose. We are constantly wiping it because of the boogers. Poor little girl. I am hoping that this is why she keeps waking up throughout the night too. Very unlike her. Last night, she woke up at 11, 2, 4 and then 7. Blake turned the heat on in her room. I am hoping that will help! I know there isn't anything we can really do except wait it out. I may call the doc on Monday, just to make sure, though.
On a nice positive note, Cara's crawling is coming along great! She is really getting the hang of it. It is just so cute. It makes her seem so big! She go for a couple of paces, then collapse down to her tummy, and she is my little bug again. I can't wait until she's feeling better!

We have crawling!

Cara crawled last night! These are of her this morning. I can't believe she's crawling already! It's just cute. It was like a lightbulb clicked on last night. She just all of a sudden realized she could. She's so awesome! Now, if we can only figure out why she is waking up at 4 in the morning, wide awake......

Lookin' girly

Her daddy is always complaining that she looks like a boy in her jammies. Well, these are defenitly girly! I have to admit, she does look great in pink!

My messy-haired little girl

I think Cara is finally feeling better. We had kind of a long day today and she did great! We went out to lunch with a couple of ladies and Cara was only wary for about the first ten minutes. She let people hold her and one of the ladies, Chrystal, even had her belly laughing! It was great. I am so glad she is feeling a little better!

Today

Just hanging out with Mommy. Getting ready for cheerios!

a few more pics

eating her cheerios
A little angry....

A good day :)

We are having a fabulous day! The kiddo is learning some lessons, but overall it's going great. She almost sat up completly on her own this morning! That was so cool. She is also learning how to get out of the sitting position without just falling back. Her "crawling" is going well too. She doesn't quite have it down, but is getting there. She will move her legs in the crawling way, but won't really move her arms. She ends up doing a lot of faceplants. She has kind of started moving backwards, though. That seems to be easier. Oh, and ewww...when she cries now, snot comes outof her nose. Gross!!

My Star Wars Daughter

She's still quite the Star Wars fan. I should have thought of it long ago...It would have saved me many watchings of Bee Movie.

My silly little girl

She loves to have her tongue sticking out. She is just so funny sometimes!

6 Month Stats

We FINALLY had Cara's 6 month appointment today. I am pleased to say she is doing fabulous! She is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. I didn't catch her length, but it was between 27 and 28 inches. Her weight was 19 pounds, which was only a pound over what I had thought. She is right where she is supposed to be with everything. The doc said we are cleared to start her on cheerios, which I am excited to try. She got her shots and only cried for a few seconds. She was so brave! I can't believe how big she is getting. While we were in the waiting room, there were two little babies there. One was two weeks old and one was 4 days old. I can't believe that Cara was ever that small! It's just amazing. I can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

All smiles

Cara is feeling MUCH better today. She woke up with a smile on her face, and it hasn't left all day. Yay!!! I am so glad she is feeling better!
