Her first tooth

So, my little baby has her very first tooth!! I think this could very well be the culprit of our late night, early morning crying sessions. I couldn't get her to let me get a shot of the tooth, but this is her biting my thumb with it! We are once again up at 2am, but now I know why. We are getting through it.

This was Cara this morning. She was still is such a fabulous mood. I thought that maybe she would sleep tonight, but no. She isn't.

On another note, we had no power for about an hour this afternoon. It was quite unpleasant. I never realized how dark my house can get with no lights...and how HOT and stifiling it can get with no fans. We had a wicked storm go through. I thought it would bring the cool air, but alas, it did not. Here's hoping tomorrow will be cooler!

Why??

Why is it that when the child has not slept ALL night long and has kept you up, she wakes up like this? Bright and cheerful and sunshiney....at 6 am! She had a horrible night, but woke up in just an awesome mood. I guess I can't get too cranky about that!

Vacation Stage 4--Minnesota

Saying goodbye at the airport
Elizabeth and Cara just hanging out.
Minnesota was the final stage in our whirlwind adventure. Most of the pictures I have are on my sister's blog. It was juswt a fabulous week. We had our bi-annual Berge family reunion. This was the first one I've been to in about 8 years. It was great. Everyone has grown up! It's just crazy. We also had the chance to go to Brainerd and see the Raboin side of the family as well. It was just so nice to see everyone. I got to go fishing with Craig. While I didn't maybe have "good" luck, I did finally catch a rock bass. I was quite excited!! Then it came time to say goodbye. Valerie was, of course, moved to tears, but it was really time to go. It was so nice to see everyone, but we had been gone a month. That is a really long time! We are now home and starting to adjust to our timezone here. It was so great seeing all of you!

Happy to be home

Vacation, Stage 3--Florida!

Florida is always a nice place to visit. Blake's dad lives down there and it's just beautiful! Blake's grandparents also drove down from Missouri to see us. It was so great to see them. Blake and I celebrated our 6th anniversary while we were down there. Keith and Marcia took the baby for the day and we just hung out together. It was fabulous!! It seemed as if this portion of the trip was too short. We had a blast.

Lex and Cara

We had a pretty good time in California. Blake's mom's wedding went off with only a few hiccups. It was so hot, though. We didn't really get a 4th of July. A lot of the area had cancelled their fireworks becuase of all the fires and whatnot. It wasn't super smokey to begin with when we got there, but by the time we left, it was pretty bad. We took an overnight plane from San Fransisco to Philledelphia then to Atlanta yesterday. We got to Atlanta and they didn't check our carseat through. We now have a rental. Cara hates it....I will update more on stage 2 of our trip, which is Florida, as I get chances to do so!
