My handsom little man, bright and early on his birthday
His Pablo birthday cake...It's actually cupcakes. I was planning on having an actual birthday party on Sunday with a real cake, but we won't be here!!! So this was a last minute planned "cake". It turned out okay, I guess.
Getting ready for some yummy cake!!!
Getting ready for some yummy cake!!!
His first glimpse at the yumminess!
Cara was so excited about the pirate Pablo on the top of the cake :)
He "blew" his candle out my squishing the flame out with his fingers...ouch!
Getting ready to dig in!
Yum!!!!
Cara also loved the cake!
Opening his presents...
Cara had to help on most of them...he didn't really get it.
He loved his mega blocks table!
He was getting tired of the camera by this point :(
Cara had dropped this block on the floor on purpose, then picked it up saying "poor block"...crazy kid...she then proceeded to kiss it and make it better.
Alex and his new Mickey Mouse ball. He LOVES it!!!
Alex can totally stand up by himself.....holding a ball! He can even take a few steps by himself now too. He is getting so big!
What a fabulous day for him (for the most part).
Alex is 1. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by!! He had his one year old well baby check this morning. The poor boy had to get 5 shots! He took it like a champ, but was highly aggitated with the tech who gave him the shots. She did awesome though :) Here are his stats:
Weight: 24 lbs 2 oz 62%
Height: 30 inches 81 %
Head circumference: 19.2 in 98%
He lost a pound since the last time he was weighed, which concerned the doctor, but I think it may be just becuase he has really taken off with the crawling and walking. His height is normal...for him, anyway. And then there is his head. 98th percentile!!!! Seriously. He has a huge head.
He is right on track with everything else, though. He can say Momma, Ball, bye-bye and Uh-Oh (probably more). He loves the uh-oh game. This would be when he drops something, says uh-oh and expects you to get it back for him. Not too much fun for me.
His hair is finally growing in a little bit. I do believe he is also going to have curly hair, just like his sister. It's crazy to me!! He is just such a happy baby, such a good sleeper...I just adore him. He only has 7 teeth right now, but I am hoping (and yet not hoping) that he will get more soon. I am not looking foward to the teething part of it, of course.....
I can't wait to see what he looks like in a year!

Happy Birthday Alex! I remember when we got the call last year when he was born. In MN, it was still the 22nd!
I just love the first picture of him with his ball. He has his hand on it like they are old pals! Too cute! I love his little grin too. He is so adorable. I honestly don't think his head looks huge. I think it is very proportioned to the rest of his body. He looks so tall.
Our kids are growing up so fast. I can't believe Lauren will be 7 months this weekend. She was only 2 weeks old when you met her!
I am pretty sure Lauren is trying to cut her two top teeth. She just woke up at midnight screaming bloody murder and nothing would make it better. Tylenol, orajel and an hour later, she is back asleep. I hope it lasts!
Have a great time in London this weekend. Totally jealous! We are heading to Kansas City for a little get away. I look forward to hearing about your trip
He is so cute! I can't believe he is already one year old!!!! It looks like your party was great! Just think...when you get back to the US...we can celebrate both Alex & Bud's birthdays while on vacation!!!! It will be so much fun!
Love you!
