Trunk or Treating

My little Tinkerbell My chunky Rhino :)
The only picture of the kids together I could get....
Learning what to do to get candy :)
I'm afraid the rhino didn't have a whole lot of fun. The only person she voluntarily went up to.
All done and heading back to the car.
Found the car!
We saw our good friends there. It was nice to see Batman and Robin!

The babies

Alex really is always smiling....I just never seem to get it on camera!
Cara really doesn't smile all the time....it really does take 47 pictures each day to get a smiley one!!

It seems like his teeth are coming in crooked. Has this happened to other people? I know they are just baby teeth....I don't think it matters.
Oh, and he now has 4 teeth!!! Two on top and two on bottom.

Playtime :)

Cara loves to grab Alex's hands and swing them singing "Dance, dance, dance!". He loves it for about a minute. This is the closest picture I've gotten of the two of them smiling yet.
She adores to give him kisses. He also likes this for about a minute.

Shots, shots, shots!!!

We went in today to get Alex's 6 month shots (a little late), and low and behold, we ALL needed shots! We all three got the flu shot, Alex had his normal 5 beyond that and Cara had to have her Hep shot, I had to have my tetanus and the chicken pox vax. Weird. Anyway, so we are all shot up and I am hoping the kids will just sleep and sleep and sleep tonight...I know I will!!

(you may need to make the picture big to see both teeth)
Have I mentioned that I love this little boy????

My Boy

Alex had his 6 month appointment today, even though he's now 7 months old. We were late on getting him in as we were in the states last month. His stats:
Weight: 22 lbs - 95%
Length: 28 inches - 87%
Head: 47 1/2 cm (18.7 in) - 100%
He is doing really well. A fat baby with a big head, but the doc said he was proportional, which is great!
Cara has had a rough week. She cut another one of her 2 year old molars :( She now also thinks she wants to be a baby. She wants to sit in the highchair and be fed (like we do to Alex). The doc said not to encourage it, but to focus on the fact that she is the BIG sister. Big girls aren't babies. We are defenitly working on this :)
Other than baby check-ups, we are just waiting for Blake to get home. We have around three weeks left (Yay!!). We can't wait.

Our life

Cara going "shopping". She even remembered her purse :)
Alex just being his normal smiley self :)
We have had an interesting week. We got home from the states and three days later, I sprained my ankle. Ouch. My mother decided to fly out for the last month of this incredibly looooong deployment to help out. Yay!!! It's been so nice having her here.
So we are finally down to less than a month until Blake gets here. I tell ya, this is always the worst part of the deployment for me. The last month. I just want him to get here....I always have to wait. It's so difficult.
Lets see, updates on the kids...We havn't had Alex's 6 month appointment yet (yes he will be 7 months next week). We were in the States when I should have scheduled it, but it's next week and I will update you all on him.
Cara is doing great. We have had no jealousy about Alex at all until just this past week. The jealousy comes in a wierd form (in my opinion). She want's to eat what we are feeding him. It doesn't matter what it is, she wants it. She also likes to be fed now too, just like a baby. She is finally cutting her 2 year old molars (she's been teething for months), so I know she isn't feeling well, but how far do you let the baby act go?
She and Alex sound the same when they "talk". Granted, she has a lot more that she says now than even a month ago, but where she is slow to talk, I think Alex is going to be early! It's just amazing. Alex might be super verbal early, but he isn't a great mover. He does move, though. It makes me laugh. He is like an inch worm...only opposite. He lays on his back, arches his back and pushes with his feet. It's just wierd!
Other than that, nothing much is going on in our world. I am pretty excited for next month. Blake will be back and life can start going back to normal. I am so thankful that my mom is here to help pass the time. I would have overdone it with my ankle and then wouldn't have been able to enjoy having Blake home. I will have to buy her an awesome gift :)

Some more pics

Just a few more pictures from our vacation.

We had such a nice vacation. We flew out to California first to see Blake's family. This was a HUGELY long flying day going from Frankfurt-Chicago-Minneapolis-Denver-Sacramento. But we made it and we had a nice week out there. We flew from the back to Minneapolis to go and visit my family. It was so nice to see everyone! The kids had to be put on their first antibiotic. This was not as much fun, but thankfully they didn't have anything too serious.
We stayed up there for a few weeks and then had to come back home. After a delayed flight, spending 24 hours in the Chicago airport, we finally made it home. It's nice to get back. We are now on the countdown for Blake coming home. I can finally say it's next month!!! I can't wait for him to see the kids! They have just grown and changed so much since he left.
We are now just trying to get adjusted to the correct timezone. The kids are especially difficult, but we have only been home two nights. I am sure it will get better :)
