Eating all by herself
She is so messy!!!! However, what you see is all the mess there is. She dropped nothing on the floor...so she is getting better. She had a delicious dinner of catfish, peas/carrots/corn, mac-n-cheese and yogurt. She loved it all!

Her new toy
Look at Cara's new kitchen! She absolutly loves it. I am so glad my friend Cassie was here with her big vehicle so we could get it home. I love the fact that it has two sides to it. An "inside" and and "outside". I think we all love the grill the most. Both the grill and the stovetop makes cooking sounds and are just plain awesome. One of the best parts about this toy is that it closes off Cara's play area. There is just enough room for her to get back and forth while keeping all of the toys confined. I love it!

The kidlets and a cake
I tried Alex out in the bumbo today. He was kind of scrunchy in it, but he lasted about 8 minutes in it. Cara is still sniffly and coughy today, but she doesn't have a fever (yay!!). It could just be allergies. We have had such a busy first week with Blake gone. It's just kind of hitting now that he won't be back for 6 months. We have plenty to keep us busy, though, until then. I made a tractor cake for my friends little boy's birthday. He wanted a John Deere/ The Beetles cake. I had to freehand the Beetles. They didn't turn out, but oh well. The boy loved it, which is all that matters :) I may have three more cakes to do this summer too! I love making cakes. I am going to be taking a fondant class so I know how to do that properly. I am excited!! Well, that's it for now! More updates later...

2 Months Old
We had Alex's two month well baby check today. He is doing fabulous! He is 13 lb 7 oz, 24 inches long and has a head circumference of 41.5 cm. He is in the 90% for height and weight and the 95% for his head! He is right on track developmentally and is just doing great. We didn't get his shots today becuase he technically doesn't turn two months until Saturday....and they wouldn't give them to him. Oh well. I guess we go back on Monday or Tuesday to get it done...

First Blood
Well, it's finally happened. We've had our first accident which produced blood :(. Cara fell down three stone steps. It was so sad. I couldn't get to her in time and I watched her (in slow motion) fall and roll over and over down the steps. What you can't see in the picture is her fat lip, the lump/scrape on her hairline, the scrape on her back and the bump on the back of her head. It was so sad! I will have to take a picture of her tomorrow without the pacifier. Hopefully everything will look better.

Our Life
She loves her baby. She now burps her...
Just hanging out with Daddy
Smiles late at night :)
Well, the first six weeks are almost over. Yay!! Alex is getting past the point where he poops every time he eats, which is fabulous, he is sleeping longer and longer through the night, although he still isn't where Cara was at this point, He is having more and longer awake times throughout the day and he just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Blake and I are putting together the crib for him this week. We went and got his mattress today. I am glad I did it before Blake left...it BARELY fit in the car with the carseats!! We squished it and made it home.

Speaking of Blake leaving....we have a week left. We are getting everything ready so it will be as easy as possible for me in the next 6 months. With the Baby Bjorn my in-laws got for me, life will be a little easier going out and about. Cara is getting better at the stairs...she likes to lick them sometimes (gross!). She no longer falls out of her bed at night, which is great, and we are going to be starting potty training next week (I am a little tired of all the poo between the two kids!!!). I know she is a little on the young side, but I am hoping to have her, at the very least, daytime trained by the time Blake gets back.
My downside this week....I think my breastpump is fizzling out :( This makes me sad. I keep hoping it will hold on just one more day......I think my days with it are numbered. Other than that, life is going well and we are doing great! More updates to come :)
