One Month Old

Instead of fighting sleep tonight, we are trying to make her stay awake....it's not quite working! I can't believe Cara is already one month old! It is so crazy how the time really does pass. It, literally, seems like just last week she was born. How wierd.

A crib shot.

Blake caught me sleeping...not a super flattering picture, but this is how Cara and I spend a lot of our mornings.

She loves to take naps in her crib. The pants are from my friend Ruth. These are my favorite pants she has. I've been waiting for her to fit into them.

Funtime!

Cara absolutly loves this playmat! I prop up the side of it so she can look at all the interesting things on it. She just oogles at it! Her favorite part of it is the mirror. It's what she's looking at in this picture. I love that she loves it!!

And life gets back to normal!

She fights sleep so well at this early stage.....
Here she is, just five minutes later!

We have had quite the time these last two days. We switched from breastmilk to formula. This has been quite an adjustment on Cara's digestive system. I think it's finally regulating out, though. She went for a nice long nap in her crib this afternoon which was fabulous! she had a very uncomfortable night, being gassy and all, so I was happy when she got some nice uninterupted sleep. I, too, was able to get quite a few things done. I think I'm getting the hang of this whole mommy thing. It's fabulous. Cara and I had our first major outing this past Friday. On base at the community center, they hold a bingo event once a month. You can buy a card for 5 dollars and play the whole night (about two hours) on it. They give away a trip somewhere every month too. It's a pretty fun, yet cheap evening. Kimberly and I have gone every month since we got here. I was happy that we were able to make it this month as well. Cara did fabulous there.
Blake and I are still watching Stargate. We are up to season 7. I have to say, there are quite a few episodes that we have never seen before. This is surprising to us. I thought we'd seen most of them. It's been nice.
Tonight when Blake gets home from work, I am actually going to make dinner. I tell ya, getting life back on track feels so nice! I see why they give 6 weeks maternity leave to people. It takes a good bit of time to get things back in order! It just feels wonderful!

Stargate

As we don't get cable or anything tv related, we treated ourselves to a tv program that we love. Blake went online and ordered Stargate, the entire series. We got it in the mail yesterday, and to our surprise, it came in an awesome case! We love it.

Well, I hope you all didn't think you were going to get away with a post that didn't mention our little love bug. She is just so adorable. I wanted to give you the view I see of her. She is jsut so precious!
This is the cutest little sweater. Blake says it makes her look like a cute little librarian. She's not too sure if she wanted to have her picture taken again...but she is cute as always!

A New Day

This is the dress Auntie Ness and Uncle Dave got Cara. You can't really tell, but it's super cute! She was NOT in the mood for pictures at this point. She spit up all over it before I could get a good picture of her in it....sorry Ness!
We had a good awake time today. After she slept and ate ( a couple hours from the above picture) she was in just a great mood! She's so adorable!!

This is her "stare at the couch" look. She absolutly LOVES the couch...we aren't quite sure why. It's very strange.
We have been trying out something new starting yesterday. We are starting to take naps in the crib. I say we, but really, I just mean Cara (I don't quite fit in her crib). We desperatly needed a routine, as I was getting completly run down, so yesterday, we started one. I put her down for her morning nap (this is somewhat hard to differentiate between the all the time sleeping) around eleven, and she goes in her crib. The first time yesterday was quite the ordeal, however, she is so much better now! She doesn't even cry now. I lay her down and she snuffles around for a few minutes and then passes out. I am loving the fact that I get a couple of hours to get things done now (eating, bathing, cleaning...).
She is just doing so well now today. Not too fussy and her awake times are about an hour to an hour and a half long. It's really wonderful. I am just loving her to pieces!!!
